April’s Challenge focuses on citrus colours…lime greens, lemon yellows and zingy oranges. The challenge requires participants to use at least two of the three citrus colours, and the ‘twist’ (which is optional) is to include buttons in the design.
Oranges, lemons and limes:
My citrus inspired piece:
My cuff bracelet is made with 4mm Miyuki cubes in 3 shades of citrus green, each with different finishes – matte, glossy and AB. The beads are woven in no particular order to produce a random tiled mosaic look. I have created a buttonhole for the closure and am using a citrus yellow and orange shank button for the clasp. The button features a pattern, which, if you look closely and use your imagination, looks like a peeled segment of citrus fruit.
