September’s challenge colours are green and gold, which incidentally, are very Australian…
Our sports teams wear green and gold with pride when competing in international sporting events (such as the recent Olympics), and the green triangle and gold kangaroo of the Australian Made logo is often seen on shop shelves. What I didn’t know, until writing this blog post was that the colours green and gold are intended to represent the Australian landscape and species of wattle.
The OTTBS team chose green and gold for this month, to represent a time of change, with leaves on the trees starting to turn from summer green into the golden colours of autumn (if you’re in the northern hemisphere at least).
Here are my green and gold Australian inspired earrings. They’re made from galvanised gold size 11 seed beads, pale mint green Czech glass pearls and are finished with brass ear hooks.
