OTTBS Challenge – January 2013

The OTTBS monthly challenge for January is to create something with the peacock inspired colour scheme of Purple, Blue, Green and Gold.

Color by Damaged Cupcake

Using the colour scheme and inspiration image above, I’ve designed two pairs of earrings which remind me of the peacock feather.  The first pair of earrings are in muted pastel shades and the second pair of earrings follow a more vibrant peacock colour palette.

Pastel Peacock earrings

Pastel Peacock earrings use Miyuki seed beads 11/0 – Violet, Matte Opaque Pale Denim Luster, Frosted Light Olive Iris, Galvanised Yellow Gold, and Miyuki seed beads 15/0 Galvanised Yellow Gold.

Vibrant Peacock earrings

Vibrant Peacock earrings use Miyuki seed beads 11/0 – S/L Dark Amethyst,  S/L Blue Zircon, S/L Olive, Galvanised Yellow Gold, and Miyuki seed beads 15/0 Galvanised Yellow Gold.

  1. I think I’m with you on the pastel version, though both are very pretty!

  2. The earrings are beautiful, you have captured all the colour palettes perfectly!

  3. These are both gorgeous – love how the pattern is the same, but the achieved effect of the color tones totally separates the two! Beautiful!

    1. Thanks Patti – you’re right, two different looks from the same design…have to admit the Pastel Peacock earrings are my fave.
