BJP April 2013

My goddess for April commemorates ANZAC Day on 25th April; a public holiday and national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand. ANZAC Day honours the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC’s) who fought at Gallipoli during World War I, and more broadly now, also commemorates all those who have served and/or died in military operations since then.

Red paper poppies are worn as symbols of remembrance on this day, so my goddess doll is appropriately named “Poppy”.
